Meet Scott Cooper

Choosing the right college is one of the biggest decisions a student and family will make. My goal is to make that journey less stressful, more organized, and even enjoyable.

For more than 30 years, I've worked with students at every level of education, helping them discover their strengths, build confidence, and achieve ambitious academic goals. As a nationally recognized college transfer expert, educator, and private college admissions counselor, I've guided thousands of students through the admissions process—from selecting the right colleges to writing compelling application essays and preparing for a successful transition to college.

By day, I'm known as Transfer Man, serving as the Transfer Counselor and a tenured Professor of Counseling at College of the Desert. I also serve as the California Region 9 Representative for Transfer Center Directors, working with colleges across the state to improve transfer opportunities for community college students. My experience includes serving as a university admissions application reviewer, directing federally funded educational programs, securing grant funding, and creating innovative college success initiatives that have helped students from every background reach their goals.
