Module 1: Finding Your Career/College Path- A Deep dive into Personality and Interests

We first build your portfolio with cover letters, a working resume, and then explore personality and interests in relation to careers and majors. We then build a college list, as well as identify the skills and tools you need to get there.

Module 2: Building a Standout Personal Statement

In an age of AI, we do this from scratch. We find your voice and how to show who you are in writing. I explicitly teach this skill and show you many examples of successful students including my own kid's personal statements.

Module 3: Showcasing Extracurriculars and Leadership

We develop interests by seeking out internships and relevant experiences. You do not need to fill your application with tons of activities. You need ones that are meaningful to you and your goals.

Module 4: Letters of Recommendation Strategy

You learn how to professionally ask for a letter of recommendation through a well written cover letter with attached resume, and how to properly thank your recommender. Manners still matter!

Module 5: Tailoring Your Application to Each School

Your perfect fit is about knowing who you are rather than applying blindly. We build your application for each school individually and personally.

Scott Cooper has been teaching since 1996, working with students from elementary school to graduate programs. He spent 12 years as a high school English, Psychology, and AVID teacher and 16 years as a community college transfer counselor.

A two-time High School Teacher of the Year (2000 & 2010) and 2024 College Faculty of the Year, Scott is a recognized state leader in college transfer and a former UC Admissions Reviewer.

He holds an M.A. in Career Counseling, English and Psychology teaching credentials, and brings 30 years of proven experience helping high school students find their voice, define their goals, and reach their dream schools.
